Tanya Zakus, UX/UI designer for humanist AI products and complex SaaS.
I've spent six years designing the kind of software people use every day at work — B2B platforms, CRMs, and AI tools where clarity is the whole product. I care about the small details that make a system feel calm to use.
How I work
I start by listening — to users, to support tickets, to the engineers who'll have to build it. Most design problems are clarity problems wearing a costume, so I look for the smallest change that makes the most expensive thing easier.
I work best with teams that ship in small slices, talk to their users often, and treat design and engineering as one conversation rather than a handoff.
Beyond work
Outside of design, I'm usually cooking something I've never made before, walking long routes through new neighborhoods, or reading anything written by someone who really cares about their craft.
Lately I've been curious about how small studios run — the ones that stay small on purpose.
